Meet Holly

Holly Parker has a great eye for design and it shows in the care with which she has decorated her apartment. Holly is originally from the Mentor area and lived in a non-accessible apartment complex before moving into Lake Vistas 5 years ago.

Lake Vistas has made a huge, positive difference in her independence. Holly enjoys the large size of the unit which allows her to easily maneuver in her power chair. The stovetop and counters being at a lower height make it so she can bake and cook for herself.

Holly is very interested in interior decorating and design and has taken a lot of time in decorating her apartment. She has created art that hangs on the walls and has decorated the apartment with antiques and an electric fireplace. Holly also enjoys baking cookies and going to the local shops. Lake Vistas is located close to the Great Lakes Shopping Mall and can be accessed by Lake Tran which provides transportation for people with disabilities.

What Holly enjoys most about living in the Vistas apartments is being able to be part of a small community. She enjoyed socializing with other tenants during the annual tenants’ picnic. Holly likes that the Vistas have “a very homey atmosphere” for the tenants.

Having her cat Maddy in her apartment also makes a big difference. Maddy meows if Holly’s oxygen becomes unplugged and comforts her by sleeping on her bed.
