Accessibility First Housing Connector

Accessibility First Housing Connector

The Housing Connector is meant to bring together people needing accessible rental housing with existing accessible units in the community. We know how difficult it is for people in need of accessible and affordable housing in Northeast Ohio to find it. MaxHousing is also aware that property managers with accessible units sometimes fill those units with someone who does not need the accessibility features. The Housing Connector will help ensure that these rare and difficult to locate accessible units get filled appropriately.

For People Seeking Accessible Housing

If you are a person with a mobility disability or working with someone in need of accessible housing in Northeast Ohio, the first step in the process for the Housing Connector is to fill out a preliminary application. This will only take a few minutes. The more people in need of accessible housing that we can identify, the more likely it is that property managers will want to participate. For more information, contact us or call 216-231-7221.

Please note that people applying to MaxHousing Vistas Apartment Communities, can also apply to the Connector Program.

For Property Owners and Managers with Accessible Rental Units

If you have accessible units in your portfolio, we want to hear from you. The Housing Connector can help you make sure those units stay filled and filled with someone who will benefit from the accessibility features you have. Our experience has been that once someone with a disability finds accessible housing, they are likely to be long-term tenants.

Please contact us by filling out this contact form or calling us at 216-231-7221. Please be aware that if you have accessible units as a result of government funding, you are required to actively attempt to fill those units with someone who will benefit from the accessibility features.

MaxHousing, a nonprofit agency, works to provide accessible housing for people with mobility disabilities. Filling out the application is the first step in the process. For more information about the program, please call 216-231-7221 or email info@maxhousing.org.
